Gareth W. “Bill” Rosson, 85, of Canton, formerly of Peoria, passed away at 8:43 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Prospect United Methodist Church in Dunlap, with Pastor Robert L. DeBolt officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria. Interment will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Army. Bill was born on December 7, 1927 in Tipton, MO, the son of Earl and Laura (Beckman) Rosson. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Brewer. He married Betty Jo Raimond on June 18, 1949 in Kahoka, MO. She survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Marilyn (Don) Piper of Georgetown, TX and Debbie (Max) Lalicker of Brimfield; son, Gary (Karen Benge-) Rosson of Boulder, CO; sister, Yvonne Smith of Arizona; seven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He retired, in 1982, as a General Foreman for Caterpillar, Inc in East Peoria.
